activities and achievements

1.   Implementation of literacy and post literacy activities in the districts of Lalitpur, Kaski, Gorkha, Bhojpur, Sindhupalchok, Kathmandu and Kavrepalanchok. The programme so far has benefited more than 12207 rural people out of which 11802 are women.
2.   Income generating and skill training programmes like sewing , handlooms, carpet weaving, typing crafts etc. for economic empowerment. The programme has now reached to the rural women of Lalitpur, Kaski, Kavre and Gorkha districts.
3.   Nursery to grade II Classes for the children of destitute women and oppressed communities
4.   Multi purpose community learning centres and co-action learning centre. Such centres have been built in Gorkha, Kavre and Lalitpur district with community mobilization. The activities include health care, nursery school, literacy and skill training.
5.   Prisoners literacy and skill development programme in 15 district Jails, aiming to cover 42 districts within next few years.
6.   Lecture, discussions, symposiums, seminars, worship. The recent are Talk cum Exhibition programme organised on the occassion of International Literacy Day, Asia¬Pacific regional workshop on Preventive Education against Drug Abuse in schools and other issue based workshops.
7.   Production of literacy and post literacy materials. This orga¬nisation has been publishing different IEC materials including training manuals in order to strengthen UNESCO campaign. These include training manual, supplementary reading manual, advocay posters and workshop reports.
8.   Rehabilitation for destitute women: In order to make the destitute women to live dignified life, a social rehabilitation programme is in operation. The women will be provided 9 to 12 months skill learning in the centre. This inhouse training will not only help in making them skilled enough to generate income but also learn socialization and moral & ethical values.
9.   Setting up of a Resource Centre for the consolidation of Non¬formal Education in Nepal.
